I raised a concern through the internal ethics reporting channel. I followed the process exactly as described in the policy documentation. I was told the concern would be investigated and that I would be protected from retaliation. Six months later I was in a redundancy round. My role was "eliminated." I cannot prove a connection. The timing is what it is. What I can say is that the investigation into my concern produced no findings. I was told this in writing. The concern I raised has, as far as I can tell, not been addressed. Whistleblower protections are a policy document. What they mean in practice depends entirely on the culture of the organisation applying them. I can tell you what they meant in practice here.
