The Activision acquisition was sold to us as a moment of strength. All-hands about synergies and the future of gaming. We were told investment was being maintained. The deal closed on a Friday. The layoffs were announced the following Tuesday. Nearly two thousand people from Activision, Blizzard, and Xbox. People who'd been there fifteen, twenty years. People who stayed through the acquisition because they trusted the messaging. My manager found out the same time I did. No individual notification. Company-wide announcement. You found out whether you were affected by whether your badge still worked. I don't understand how you stand up and talk about the future you're building together, and then do this nine days later.
